Everything is Gonna Be Alright

I was having a rough day Thinking, constantly thinking My fault, her fault, her fault All 3 of our faults Fuck it I ran for about 4 miles It helped Then I got done, and started thinking again
I got in my truck, dragged my bag over the front seat and it hit my horn, and it went off loud I started laughing What a day Everything is going to be alright I thought I kept laughing Then a huge meteorite crashed right into my truck and killed me Shows what I know.

Poppers

When I was younger me and Clint through these poppers at cars driving by They would pop when they hit the cars One car stopped and followed me and Clint At the time I thought the guy was crazy But now I realize he was perfectly normal He was sane for following us Everything in his life was probably going to shit, his marriage, his job, and that popper hitting his car was probably the icing on the cake
He had a breakdown probably What’s crazy is, following us would change the rest of his life He would go to bed that night, but not at his normal time Everything would be off by a minute or seconds for the rest of his life
In 10 years he might meet his future wife because of following us that day, or he might get killed in 10 years by a split second He may not be killed by a split second because he followed us as well We may have saved his life Maybe he saved ours Or maybe me and Clint will be killed someday due to that man following us.

I First Noticed the Cat

I don’t recall when I first noticed the cat
Sitting quietly, blinking in the warm morning sunlight
Cat-tummy full from the day’s first meal
One battle-torn ear twitching casually
As he bathed and sniffed the air
Self-smug in the comparison of his life to mine
