Tea Leaf

A little embarrassed that I’m 33
and still play air guitar from time to time
but that’s just society pushing down on my shoulders
and watching me through the frosted windows somehow
and isn’t sublimation
just a form
of magic?
isn’t transubstantiation
a species
of Darwinism
and transmutation a cult
of lab coat pagans
crashing into cosmic dust?
and isn’t this stanza
somewhat crowded –

can we begin anew,
looking underneath the labels
of our childproof medicine bottles
like sandbox scientists
marveling at the graining vortex
as we count one thousands
like temporary angels above the sieve?

In The Morning

In the morning,
She said, “Johnny,
Make me a pizza ”
Which I found
Rather annoying
As my name is Dan.
