Falling

burnt spent leaves
a final resting place
until the next gust

Waiting for the Sun

Windy, unseasonably cool.
Housekeeping trolley sits outside the open door,
Motel morning Florida.

I wait again for the sun.
If it takes days,
I’m here. I paid the rent.

I will sit with well fed white people
At the pool and talk about
The north’s snow and cold.
