Pittsburgh Oyster House Trilogy

Afro bobbing up and down
for oysters and a couple of bucks
Flobee smiles and sketches

Miss America photos
stare at the backs of boozey old men
sitting at the bar

Martin Luther King shot
black men loading guns in the bathroom
buttermilk and oysters left uneaten

I am a graduate (BA) from Bar – Ilan University in Israel literature, Jewish art and Information Science. My stories have appeared in magazines, anthologies and in electronic format in Israel and abroad. I took part in writing project exercises to encourage the teen writing in Israel.

The sad clown
Put his red nose
Under the pillow .
Closed his eyes,
And hoped
That in the morning it would be gone.

Our rose-tinted dreams
Thrown in the laundry basket.
In the evening :
We’ll set the washing machine running,
Take out the trash,
Take the skeletons out of the closet.
