A Conversation with Alex S. Johnson and Richard Modiano on the Kandy Fontaine Show!

Thanks, Alex S. Johnson, for hosting me today on the Kandy Fontaine show. I got to have a fun conversation with Alex and Richard Modiano. Historical myths were explored, ideas were conceived, and of course, poems were read. (Including one from my new book “Begin the Beget”) A fun hour all around!

Begin the Beget: A Poem for Every Aliyah of the Book of Genesis in the Torah

My first collection of Jewish poems since 2017’s God Wrestler is out now! Begin the Beget: A poem for every Aliyah of the book of Genesis in the Torah is the first in the Chazak Chazak series – 5 books to be released in conjunction with the 5786 / 2026-2027 Torah reading cycle.

Cantor Ross Wolman says “It’s commentary that argues, grieves, laughs, and refuses to stay ancient.”

Fantastic Review of High Moose Alert from Eric Paul Shaffer

Whoa…thank you, Eric Paul Shaffer, for this very kind review of my book “High Moose Alert” – Being mentioned in the same breath as Brautigan melts my heart. Thank you! (Check out the full review at GoodReads)

“A New Plague” poem appeared in Catching Fire Anthology

Catching Fire is a new anthology of poems written after last year’s L.A. Wildfires. It’s a spectacular collection curated by S.A. Griffin and Richard Modiano that serves as a primary source people will read for years to come to hear from people who experienced it. I’m lucky enough to have a poem in it and got to read at the launch event at Beyond Baroque yesterday Check out the entire reading and please consider getting a copy of the book here. All proceeds benefit victims of last year’s fires.
