We Were So Powerful

We took off our jumpers
in the dark
as fast as we could
to watch sparks
light up the room,
the entire street.

Bio (auto)

Melissa Scalzo writes "life poetry"...her life poetry encompasses a living breathing world. Ever so carefully constructed on the streets and heart of her home in New York City, her poetry is urban and tangible. She can capture a moment in time like a snapshot without the camera. Her poetry is about falling in love, out of love, on top and underneath it. She writes about her dreams and remember those best when they make the least sense. She writes in hopes that a vast audience can not only understand but also relate. Visit Melissa's poetry blog here: www.favaralso.blogspot.com

absentee encounter

I boarded the train
in hopes of finding
something tonight in
the heart of our city.
as I walked off
without a trace of
a familiar face
I listened as a
potential memory
crumbled under
my soles like
spilled potato chips
on the platform.
