Bio (auto)

I have been writing poetry for many years, with online publication in “Blue Skies Poetry”. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and am a member of Alberta Writer’s Guild. I have previously published short stories and articles, however, in 2007, while coping with a husband who ‘ran off’ with a friend of mine, the concentration span was too short to write articles, and I found myself turning to writing poetry. Fortunately I have since been able to move on to other topics beyond Failed Relationships 101….

Shiva Dance

Shiva dips her toe
New Orleans slips
beneath the sea

Iraq explodes

we
shuffle deckchairs
iceberg looming

Hungry Ghosts

In Laos
there are hungry ghosts
with mouths too small for eating.
They drift through the ether
longing, crying, yearning.

I have a mouth
too small for
all the pain and sorrow
drifting through the streets

Into Sanity

Edges remain scalpels
always intrude
into sanity
and the intolerable balance
palpitates

a beating negativity
embryonic
eternally.

It would be easy
to choose
the right answer
but
it will become
embedded in regret
and rigor mortis

just what I want
to avoid.
